Boca Petanque 2000 was founded by John Rolland in the year 2000. The club has about 50 members. We celebrated our 10th Anniversary on December 12th, 2010, with food and play – the petanque way. The club has 20 official courts. Visitors and beginners are always welcome. No boules? We always have spares; we will be happy to lend you some, so that you can try out the game!

Memorial Day Doubles Tournament, Sunday May 27

  • Free lunch for all members. $5.00 for guest.

2012 John Rolland Annual Doubles Tournament Announced — Up to $4,230 in Prizes

  • November 3rd and 4th, 2012 — Doubles
  • New Format. Play five games on Saturday and three games on Sunday — with a different pointer and shooter each game. Then count all your accumulated points to qualify for one of 40 individual cash prizes.

2011 National Singles, Mixed Triples held at Boca Jan. 22/23

The National Women's Singles and Men's Singles Tournaments were held at Boca Petanque 2000 on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011. A dark and cold day for Floridians. The National Mixed Triples was held the next day, Jan. 23, on a much clearer and sunnier day, reaching 70 degrees F.

2011 Florida Cup in Sarasota

Florida Cup 2011 Sixteen teams competed for the 2011 Florida Cup in Sarasota on Sunday, January 16th, and the final four were all members of Boca Petanque 2000! Claude Laulhe and Bernard Martin took home the trophy, and Roger Arpaia and John Rolland took Second Place. John reports that they had "a wonderful day." Congratulations!

2011 John Rolland Tournament

The first Annual John Rolland Petanque Tournament in November, 2010, was a great success! We had many elite teams from Canada, as well as players from France and California, and Florida teams from Orlando, Sarasota, Lakeworth, and of course our own, the host club Boca Petanque 2000. Competition was at the highest level, with four pools of six doubles teams in which only two teams advanced to the Main Concours on Sunday after a total of five games.

The winning team of Maryse Bergeron and Marieke Rolland were undefeated throughout the tournament, steamrolling over all competition. Maryse played like the world class shooter that she is, and Marieke's pointing was flawless.

After the dust settled on the terrain, we moved to a nearby Asian restaurant for a great dinner and the award presentations. Just as after any tournament, new friendships were born.

In November 2011 we will play the $5,000 Jean Rolland Trophy in the Jean Rolland Annual Select Open Doubles Tournament for 40 teams.
